National Endowment for the Arts Awards $25,000 to EMA

Early Music America is pleased to announce it has been approved by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for a Grants for Arts Projects award of $25,000. This grant will support the 2024 EMA Summit in Cleveland, October 20-22. In total, the NEA will award 1,135 Grants for Arts Projects awards totaling more than $37 million as part of its second round of fiscal year 2024 grants.

“Projects like the 2024 EMA Summit exemplify the creativity and care with which communities are telling their stories, creating connection, and responding to challenges and opportunities in their communities — all through the arts,” said NEA Chair Maria Rosario Jackson. “So many aspects of our communities such as cultural vitality, health and well-being, infrastructure, and the economy are advanced and improved through investments in art and design, and the National Endowment for the Arts is committed to ensuring people across the country benefit.”

David McCormick, executive director of EMA, added, “We are so pleased to have the support of the National Endowment for the Arts for our 2024 EMA Summit in Cleveland! This is the largest gift EMA has ever received from the NEA, showing their confidence in our ability to deliver an impactful event, building on the success of our inaugural Summit in Boston in 2023.”

The 2024 EMA Summit will feature more than 20 presentations, workshops, music making sessions, and networking events. Summit participants will also be treated to eight live performances including the 14th annual Young Performers Festival, the seventh annual Emerging Artist Showcase, and concerts showcasing musicians and ensembles from the Cleveland area.
