Bach Collegium San Diego presents Beethoven 5 on period instruments

Bach Collegium San Diego Presents Total Sound Explosion 2! March 15-16
Orchestra Ensemble Performing Jean-Féry Rebel & Ludwig Van Beethoven

Bach Collegium San Diego (BCSD), one of the country’s leading baroque ensembles, presents Sound Explosion 2 featuring Beethoven and Rebel. Join the orchestra for an unlikely pairing of groundbreaking works from different centuries by Jean-Féry Rebel and Ludwig Van Beethoven, beginning with Rebel’s shocking depiction of chaos, through Beethoven’s exhilarating ride from darkness to triumphant light.

I’m looking forward to leading an unlikely pairing of two revolutionary works with the intrepid, firecracker BCSD orchestra on historical instruments. In particular, the opportunity to bring Beethoven’s sound world to the iconic Symphony 5, like you’ve never heard it before!
