no tickets are required.

ABOUT CHORAL EVENSONG

One of the treasures of the Anglican tradition, Evensong is a service of sung evening

prayer that combines music with readings from scripture and ancient prayers. The choir leads the

45-minute service, while the congregation participates in hymns and spoken sections of the

liturgy, as well as in quiet prayer and meditation throughout the service.

The flexibility and reflective atmosphere of Evensong has garnered popularity over the

last century, with many individuals of wide-ranging religious backgrounds attending. Reasons

for this growth in attendance range from the desire to experience superb live performances of

choral music, to finding solace in stillness and calm at the end of a busy day, to an opportunity

for personal reflection or meditation.

ABOUT TRINITY CHURCH, PRINCETON

Trinity Church is a worshiping church, a welcoming church, and an active church.

Everything that we are, and everything that we do, is rooted in our relationship with

God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — as followers of Jesus Christ. We encounter God in ourworship: in Scripture and in the sacraments, in prayer and in song. We respond to God’s love for

us by loving others actively — welcoming our neighbors near and far, seeking peace, and

pursuing justice.

For nearly one hundred and ninety years, Trinity Church has been a beacon of faith, hope,

and love in the very heart of Princeton; an Episcopal congregation in the Diocese of New Jersey

devoted to striking, spirit-filled worship in the Anglican prayer book and choral traditions,

lifelong christian formation and fellowship, and the care and comfort of those most in need in

our community and in the world, always aspiring to be a visible and tangible sign of Christ’s

ineffable love.

ABOUT THE BRICK PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

The Brick Presbyterian Church is a lively, growing congregation that has been serving

New York City since 1767. We worship every Sunday at 11 a.m. in our Sanctuary. Sunday

Church School is offered for children from age two to seventh grade. We welcome all to come,

visit, worship and see what Brick Church is all about.

The Brick Church is a member congregation of the Presbytery of New York City. The

session appoints elders to serve as commissioners to meetings of the Presbytery. In addition,

elders serve on various committees when elected or appointed. The Brick Church also supports

the work of the Presbytery financially thorough assessments and apportionments and general

mission giving. In addition to supporting the Presbytery’s mission, the church has traditionally

supported a wide range of mission outreach efforts in New York City. Involvement on the

national level of the Presbyterian denomination has been strong and supportive over the 250-year

history of the congregation. Several ministers of The Brick Church have served as moderators of

the General Assembly, the national body of our church. In fact, the Rev. John Rogers, the first

minister of the Brick Church, was elected as Moderator of the First General Assembly in 1789.
