This is a wildly unique workshop presenting 2 organ builders x 2 organs x 2 organists at charming St Andrew’s Episcopal Church in College Park, Maryland.
Mr Richard Alford from Lewis & Hitchcock, region’s legend pipe organ builder with 100 years of service, will talk about a unique history of Opus 164/247 housed at St Andrew’s.
Mr Niels Klop, 3rd generation Dutch Organ & Harpsichord builder, will talk about all-wooden pipes church/chamber organ building and demonstrate continuo organ tuning.
Region’s highly respected organists Dr Paula Maust, Peabody Institute and Mr David Houston, St Andrew’s Episcopal Church will join Mr Alford and Mr Klop for panel discussion and invite the audiences to interactive/engaging Q&A session.
The workshop will be concluded by beautiful organ music performance by Dr Maust and Mr Houston, on both L&H church organ and Klop continuo organ.
