Collectio Musicorum (“Collection of Music”) is an ensemble devoted to giving the best possible performances of music from the earliest of times. While we realize it is not possible to replicate medieval performances with complete accuracy, we strive to achieve a reasonable reproduction of the sounds and performance practice of the Middle Ages by examining all available evidence—codicological, organological, linguistic, iconographic, etc. We combine this musicological approach with the highest possible level of musicianship to present historically informed concerts that are both scholarly and entertaining. We also strive to resurrect music that, although perhaps mentioned in music history books, is rarely, if ever, performed.
