About

Founded in 2005, Les Bostonades, a period instrument ensemble of flexible size and instrumentation, has received rave reviews for their “most engaging chamber music playing” and “energy and enthusiasm, not to mention wit.” An established contributor to Boston’s vibrant early music scene, it has developed under its founding director Akiko Sato, an acclaimed harpsichordist and continuo player, who received her early musical training in Japan and subsequently in the U.S. and Montreal. The ensemble has presented numerous concerts exploring various Baroque styles and themes and has recorded two albums to date.

Highlights include collaborations with such distinguished artists as Hank Knox (harpsichord), Reginald Mobley (countertenor), Christopher Palameta (oboe), Robinson Pyle (trumpet), Aaron Sheehan (tenor), Teresa Wakim (soprano), and Zachary Wilder (tenor), as well as engagements in Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York State, Rhode Island, and Washington, D.C.

Les Bostonades offers educational outreach and performances tailor-made for different organizations. Visit https://www.bostonades.org/programs for sample programs.
