About

Valley of the Moon Music Festival, founded in 2015 by pianist Eric Zivian and cellist Tanya Tomkins, is the first and only festival in the U.S. devoted exclusively to presenting the chamber music of the Classical and Romantic eras, performed on original period instruments from the time the music was written.

The Festival also features the Blattner Lecture Series, offering insight into our concerts, and the Apprenticeship Program, a rare opportunity for young up-and-coming musicians to study this repertoire in depth on period instruments while playing alongside and under the direction of some of the world’s leading experts in historic performance practice.

The annual summer Festival runs in late July at the Hana Boys Center in Sonoma, California.  Enjoy a picnic on the patio before attending a concert, and stay for a complimentary glass of wine while mingling with the artists after each performance.
