Reactions from 2023 EMA Summit in Boston: ‘Electric!’

If I had to sum up the 2023 EMA Summit in one word, it would electric! As I bounced from session to session, every room I entered was full of energy – scholar-performers sharing their latest research, students asking insightful questions, emerging artists daring us to hear familiar music in a new way, arts leaders having difficult conversations about equity and belonging in the early music field. I offer my heartfelt thanks to our presenters, performers, volunteers, and attendees. I’m especially grateful to the staff of EMA and to our major donors, without whom there would have been no Summit. Stay tuned – the 2024 Summit will be announced soon! We hope you’ll join us.
