New Jersey now has its own professional period-instrument orchestra. Founded and led by harpsichordist Alice M. Chuaqui Baldwin, La forza delle stelle | Baroque Orchestra is based in Montclair, NJ, and had its first concert in August of this year. The orchestra—which is named after a serenata by Alessandro Stradella—is made up of graduates from a number of the nation’s top music schools, including Juilliard, Eastman, and Indiana University.
