ARTEK Early Music is seeking young professional violinists with historical performance experience for their 2025 Italian Insanity Fellowship. This position involves rehearsals and concerts from January 29th-February 1st, 2025. This project, focussed on Italian concertos for four violins, will be led by Italian baroque violinist Enrico Gatti, one of the foremost historical violinists internationally and a highly sought after performer and teacher. He teaches presently at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and at the Conservatorio “G.B. Martini” of Bologna. This project will be performed on period instruments at A415, and will also include core ARTEK orchestra members. Each fellow will receive a $500 honorarium. Additionally, it is possible to apply for a need-based travel stipend up to $300 within the United States, and accommodations in the form of a homestay in NYC as needed. At this time, only US residents and International Students with the ability to legally work in the United States are eligible to apply.
Applications are due on November 18th, 2024, including a YouTube link to a recording of one slow movement and one fast movement from an Italian baroque sonata c.1700-1750.
