Cappella Artemisia, the international women’s ensemble based in Italy and dedicated to the repertoire of early Italian convents, has just released its new CD (their 10th) dedicated to the prolific nun composer, Isabella Leonarda. It contains 10 pieces, almost all world premiere recordings, ranging from motets for solo voice to larger works performed by an ensemble of eight voices and seven instruments. The CD is on the Brilliant Classics label.
