DALLAS BACH SOCIETY PRESENTS
Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s sublime Les Arts Florissants (The Flourishing Arts) returns to Dallas after a seven-year absence, performed by our amazing vocal soloists and the sublime New York Baroque Dance Company under Catherine Turocy. Originally written for the salon of the Duchesse de Guise, one of the richest women in Europe who led an outstanding intellectual and artistic salon where Charpentier was the composer-in-residence, this unique work celebrated the return of peace in 1685, which as always to a rebirth of the arts. The only Baroque dance in the Metroplex this season, in a work of one of the greatest composers not well known to concert-goers. A multi-media Baroque experience!
