Among the world’s great sopranos, Dame Emma Kirkby’s career spans nearly 50 years, and a discography of more than 100 recordings. Her trailblazing contribution revived audiences for the elegant beauties of early Baroque and Renaissance classical music.
The winner of the Queen’s Medal for Music is joined on November 11 at 7:30 p.m. by her long-time musical partner, Swedish lutenist Jakob Lindberg.
You are also invited to observe a public masterclass on Wednesday, November 9, from 4–6 p.m., and an informal “English Lute Song Jam Session” on November 10 at 7:30 p.m. featuring graduate voice majors. Both are free.
