Carolina Pro Musica opens season 47 with a premiere from the 18th c.
Carolina Pro Musica presents “Premiering Hasse” including a cantata by Johann Adolf Hasse for soprano and strings transcribed from manuscript making it possibly the first US performance. Other works include a Hasse flute concerto, a Trio by Graun, and Quadro by Janitsch. All composers most likely knew each other as they participated in performances at the court of Frederick the Great. The concert is Friday, October 18, 2024, at 7:30 pm at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 1001 Queens Rd, Charlotte, NC 28207. Tickets are $16.00 regular admission, $8.00 for students & seniors.
