‘When I went to Venice, I discovered that my dream had become
– incredibly, but quite simply – my address.‘

Marcel Proust

In addition to the palazzi built on piles, the lagoon city is also famous for its living landmarks: the singing gondoliers.

Slip into a Venetian Gondola with baritone Holger Falk and journey through a song repertoire beloved by generations including Mozart, Goethe, and Rousseau.

Nuovo Aspetto makes its MB1800 debut from Cologne with music by André Campra, Johann Simon Mayr, Giuseppe Tartini, and Antonio Vivaldi. Also on board is the duo Merzouga, who provide cinematic sounds from the Venice of today.

‘Both technically dazzling and musically involving…Falk is in gorgeous voice, singing with a relaxed informality that’s irresistible.’
