Barbara Strozzi was one of the most prolific composers of secular vocal music in 17th century Venice. A genius ahead of her time, Strozzi wrote music and poetry with highly adventurous harmonies. And—amazingly—she published music under her own name. Strozzi was a pupil of Francesco Cavalli and Claudio Montiverdi. Plan to join us for this delightful concert where Colorado Chamber Players will celebrate the music of Strozzi and her contemporaries, along with music of another genius, J.S. Bach, in an intimate short program.
