Learn about some of Bach’s greatest flute parts!

Get a head start in preparing for the holiday spirit! Teddie Hwang teams up once again with her esteemed colleague Amanda Markwick to share with their learners the important concepts and techniques involved in J.S. Bach’s Magnificat, a wonderful piece of work often performed during the Christmas season.

The Magnificat presents great flute parts in duo, which means there’ll be opportunities for fun online duet-playing throughout the workshop. Both general advice as well as specifics to the presented passages will be dealt with in the session. The beautiful aria “Esurientes implevit bonis” with solo alto voice and two flutes will be featured, along with other orchestral passages. We will have breakout rooms so that you can choose to play with us either in A=440 or 415, so don’t let the pitch scare you away!

Full-time music students studying at a higher-education institution receive a discounted rate.

“Teddie Talks Traverso” is a series dedicated to topics around historical flute-playing. These are talks, workshops, and media curated by the flutist Teddie Hwang. www.teddiehwang.com
