Join us in a friendly conversation with the author of “Tone Development on the Baroque Flute”
It’s my great pleasure to invite my wonderful colleague Eve Friedman to talk to us about sound production on the baroque flute! Historical flutes require quite a different approach compared to the modern flute, and aspects regarding intonation and unevenness in tone color often present themselves as formidable challenges for many players.
After a brief introduction, Eve and I will talk about her method book Tone Development on the Baroque Flute and share some of her original exercises for achieving a beautiful tone on the baroque traverso. As in her book, we’ll also refer to various historical sources which mention tone and sound production to gather some clues from the past.
Players of all levels and backgrounds, as well as educators teaching the baroque flute will no doubt find this talk helpful and informative! Have your flute ready to do some hands-on trials.
Tickets are free to attend live. The replay will be available on my YouTube channel afterwards.
