Biography
Gabriel Cordero is a cornetto player from Queens, New York, currently studying in Geneva, Switzerland, at the Haute École de Musique de Genève under Lambert Colson. With a passion for exploring the role of the cornetto in the 21st century, Gabriel blends historical research with practical experimentation to support performances of both early and contemporary music.
Originally trained in classical trumpet, Gabriel discovered the cornetto as a unique bridge between modern and historical performance practices. He has studied and performed with leading specialists in early music across Europe and is committed to sharing this distinctive corner of Western music with curious and engaged audiences.
Whether interpreting sacred works or courtly dances, Gabriel aims to deepen the listener’s connection to historical soundscapes through historically informed, emotionally resonant playing.
