Biography
Nicholas Jones, Emeritus Professor of English at Oberlin College, is a teacher, lecturer and multi-instrumentalist in the Bay Area of California. He is the author of a book of translations of Italian madrigal texts, A Poetry Precise and Free, and his translation and commentary on Jacopo Sannazaro's Arcadia is forthcoming from the University of Michigan Press in January, 2025. He is a former member of the board of Early Music America. He is active in reviewing musical events for San Francisco Classical Voice, and is President of Tactus SF. Many of his translations can be found on the Choral Public Domain Library (CPDL).
