Vivaldi’s Four Seasons at 300
North American tour
MARCH 14 – APRIL 11, 2025
Les Arts Florissant, the celebrated baroque music ensemble founded by American-born conductor William Christie, returns to North America for an unprecedented concert tour.
This spring, the ensemble is led for the first time by young violin virtuoso Théotime Langlois de Swarte, a loyal member of Les Arts Florissants, for a program devoted to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons to mark the score’s 300th anniversary. A chance to rediscover this iconic work reinterpreted by one of the most promising young French musicians of his generation! |
“Vivaldi’s music has an existential and therefore timeless dimension: it invites us to question our very existence, by appealing to our senses to evoke the cycle of life. With our Four Seasons, I want to let the audience hear a version that tries to convey Vivaldi’s original ideas, in a fairly raw way, without any aesthetic filter. As if we were discovering it for the very first time.” – Théotime Langlois de Swarte

Les Arts Florissants
“For decades [Les Arts Florissants] have been
fulfilling the task of any truly important cultural
institution: opening up new worlds of beauty and
excitement, both emotional and intellectual.”
