S’Cool Sounds Launches Free Recorder Learning Site for Students

S’Cool Sounds (SCS) provides hands-on music instruction for K-12 children through classroom teaching, after school programs, and community events. With thriving in-person programs well-established in both New York City and Kenya, SCS is expanding its reach even further—this time, through digital learning for students of all ages. In addition to its existing library of free lesson plans for teachers, SCS is proud to introduce a new Learning Site for students. This innovative platform provides free, on-demand instrument lessons directly to any student with an internet connection.
Featuring high-quality videos created by SCS Teaching Artists, the Learning Site debuts with a robust recorder unit. This includes tutorials for getting started with the instrument, instructions on how to play different notes, and a set of 10 sequential songs to play with backing tracks. These self-paced learning materials allow students participating in SCS’s in-person programs to practice their skills between lessons while also bringing the engaging content to a global audience.
Digital learning is here to stay, and SCS is thrilled to be able to contribute this new portfolio of online lessons for today’s students. Check it out today!
